Entrepreneurship: A Viable Pathway to Success

Although employment is a critical lifeline for justice involved people, discriminatory employment policies & social stigmas still continue to exclude qualified and talented people from the workforce, locking them out of access to much needed resouces they need to take care of themselves and their families.

Because entrepreneurship is a viable and attainable pathway to financial wellness and success after incarceration, resulting in the reduction of re-offending and recidivism, we partner with local and statewide partners to host training that will give attendees the basics of starting their own business, building personal and business credit, applying for funding, marketing, banking, ethics, legal and more!

Entrepreneurship is be a good option for formerly incarcerated people because:
  • They are 40% more likely to pursue entrepreneurship than their peers with no history of incarceration
  • Entrepreneurs earn higher incomes and are less likely to experience recidivism than those who work for companies
  • Entrepreneurship can help reduce discrimination in the labor market
  • Entrepreneurship can lead to greater economic and social integration, which can help reduce crime

Starting in Fall 2025, we will resume our entrepreneurship training. See info belo on the R.O.C.C. Program.
